Da Flood almost repeateth

Remember the flood from last year? I've written about it before. Well, it almost happened again Tuesday night. Kingston got 60 mm of rain and my sump pumps were being overwhelmed by the 20 gallons a minute that was pouring out of my footing drain into my sump-pit! Jeez! The entire matter was exacerbated by the fact that, unbeknownst to me, my cat had pushed into the sump pit a small piece of scrap ABS pipe that clogged the empeller of my largest submersible pump! So the thing was probably working at about 25%. Jeeez! So Erin and I had to go out and buy two additional pumps just to keep up with the deluge! Holy smokes! There were 5 pumps in my pit and I had to manually operate them all night. I went to bed at 5:11am! SUCKS!

St.Jean comes to Kingston

I just spent a couple of fun days interacting with my colleagues and friends in St.Jean. Sunday night dinner at Kelsey's, Monday during the day workshop at the Base, Monday night Indian food at Darbar. Now I'm sooooooooooooooooo tired I could sleep for a day. Well, I guess that's what Tuesday's were made for (*grin*)

Fronts vs. St. Mike's!

The good guys prevail on Friday night with 41 - 24 shots and a final score of 3-1. The funniest part was the musical seats that Michelle and I played during the game. In the second period we got ourselves right behind the glass at the Frontenacs bench! Awesome! Best $11 seat in the house (*grin*) If only Michelle would stop breaking the wooden seats at the aerna though... it's so embarassing (*LOL*)

Erin's in Toronto

Erin's in Toronto for 2.5 days for a conference. Hmm... what kind of trouble should I get into while she's away? Any suggestions?

Friday night was fun and a half!

So...Erin, Michelle and I went out to the Sports for a Fat City Burger. We saw good old Barb there! She's a hoot! The Fat City was dreamy! Every once in awhile it feels so good to eat a hamburger that has a pork-chop on it!!!! (*hahaha*) The two pints of beer were great too. Michelle was graciously driving so I wasn't hesitating to partake in the festivities. On our way over to the Toucan afterwards we got a call from Jen. It turns out Joanne and her were in a car accident leaving Napanee to go to Toronto. Luckily no one was hurt but the snowy road conditions really made driving dicey. Needless to say they aborted their trip to Toronto and Jen said she’d try to get out to the Toucan later that night. So we landed at the Toucan and joined the Friday night crew over some beers. Jen showed up and Erin ordered some nachos… we weren’t hungry but they were so yummy! Michelle called it a night shortly after 9pm and the place was starting to thin out a bit. We struck up a conversation with two friendly guys at the table beside us. It turns out one of them was from K-town and the other was from Calgary. They were very friendly and they proceeded to buy multiple rounds of shooters for the lot of us including Dan the bartender!!! Polar Bears or something. Boy they were yummy-licious! We then walked up to the Grizzly Grill to play some pool... and have more drinks!!! A good time was had by all! It was such a “good time” for me that I had lay low the next day to recover from my handover… I think I had 12 drinks that night! UGH! HAHAHA!

Derailed!

Special thanks to Joanne for the passes to Derailed. This newly released movie with Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen was awesome. Both Erin and I were really surprised at how good movie it was. I give it a strong B+! However, if you go take a peek at its entry on Yahoo Movies you'll see that the movie is getting considerably crappier reviews. I wonder why? Has anyone else seen it? What did you think and how would you rate it?

Thursday night in St-Jean at the TDE/EDO mini-conference we had a great time. Largely due in part to Ross' awesome piano playing. The beer flowed, the singers sang and the people even danced. We had a great time indeed!!! Posted by Picasa

Matt Good Rocks and my camera sucks! There was so much fake fog/smoke at the Matt Good concert last Friday night at Stages that my camera's light meter got all screwed up. All I could get was washed out pictures. Hello... Stages people??!?! Fix that please! I wasn't close enough for my flash to really make a difference. Here's one example of a crappy photo. Overall the concert was good... although I found it a bit short! They didn't play their recent single "It's been awhile since I was your man"...why not? Weird! And they started super early which was strange...9:45pm and ended at 11pm. Imagine being the guy who shows up for the concert at 11pm! Yikes! The place was packed! Matt Good came close to selling it out. Great job! That was the 4th time I've seen him. Matt had this great talking bit near the middle of his show where he got into talking about how he always thought Stages was a strip club... "it has a stripclub-ish name doesn't it?" Hilarious!  Posted by Picasa

Stirling and Jack love to watch the Garbage Man in the early morning. Awwww.... so sweet! Posted by Picasa

Isn't Jack super cute in his new preppy sweater!! HAHA! Posted by Picasa

Double OUCH!), taking a certificate course, still breathing at my full-time job and going to millions of doctor's appointments! Dammit... I have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow even! UGH! Needless to say it's been busy. I have a bunch of super cute pics of Jack on the camera... as soon as I get around to it, I'll post them here. Stay tuned!

Birthday Suprise!

Hi all, it’s Erin again, doing Eric’s blog work for him:) I had an awesome birthday last weekend (one weekend early to trick me). Julie, Eric and Jen planned a great festive event. I don’t know how Jen, Eric and Alex convinced me to go back home from Jen's place to play cards and Carcassonne but as I walked through the door and saw everyone on the balcony with party attire on I could not believe it! It was a fun filled night with Karaoke and dancing. Thanks everyone for a great time and my econd great surprise this month (Eric!)!!!
