Christmas was AWESOME!
Christmas this year was AWESOME!!!!!!!! We gathered on Wolfe Island for Christmas. Erin's brother Chris and his wife Jenny and their two kids (Emily and Charlotte) were there from Burlington as well. Christmas Eve dinner was yummalicious courtesy of Andy and Cathy's place. Yum! I especially enjoyed the 1,000 calorie bowl of soup and the beer-shooter Coronitas!!! (*grin*) Christmas day was at Erin's parents' place was loads of fun. After the Christmas present unwrapping we settled into watch a a movie in the afternoon. The evening brought a huge turkey dinner feast and Erin's brother John joined us as well. The fun event of the night was the kid-adult team game of Scategories! Does a restaurant named "Hamburger Hut" really exist? Can you order "Nuggets" as a pizza topping at a Pizzaria? Who really cares.... it was loads of fun. winners: Erin and Charlotte! Afterwards we all went to bed feeling great! Here's a few pictures from the weekend.

Last night was a great night! Despite the massive snow storm we stayed warm inside and had our poker Christmas party. The regulars were there (L to R): Darryl (a.k.a Daniel "the trifle-maker" Hector, Flo (a.k.a. "I don't show them to just anyone"), Alex (a.k.a "I do one wild thing every night!"), Leo (a.k.a "Shades"), and Mary-Beth (a.k.a. "the wine lover"). In this picture I'm still trying to figure out if Flo is singing Kareoke into the pepper grinder?!

Operation Slow Knit
Hey all, its Erin blogging for Eric (sorry to freak you out Scott).
Eric, Alexis and I volunteered for Operation Rednose last night and we had quite the time! Arriving on the scene I was greeted with a large insulated box of Gingerbread latte’s from Starbucks, now I am a dedicated member of the Rednose team, 5 cups later. Eric piled back cookies every time I turned around and Alexis was immediately hit on by one of the Captains! I told her she should seriously think about, he’s tall, dark and handsome. So we proceeded to sit down to a game of “neuf” aka “nine” which Eric coached us on; he says we’d never be able to keep up with the card sharks at RMC! So as it turns out we had to drive drunken people around, it really interrupted our flow of cards. Our riders were all very good and we made many trips to the Cat Woods area!! I got to drive the intoxicated people’s car, Eric was the “Escort Driver” and Alexis got stuck with all the paper work, being the “Navigator”. She did a great job. We got to wear lovely red vests which emphasized our cougar like physiques We met some unforgettable people last night like “Alexi’s” boyfriend, the guy who Eric told us to “give him a break, maybe that’s what you look like after a couple drinks” and last but not least the “slow knitter”. We had a great time for a great cause. We are scheduled for Dec 17th and hopefully the event won’t be called “Operation Laid Prevention” for Alexis’ sake!

The Trews in Belleville!
This band rocks!!!!! If you haven't seen the Trews yet...DO IT! Phil came from Oshawa, and Erin and I came from Kingston to meet Julie in Belleville at Matt & Joe's to see this great show. Front row too! They played for almost 2 hours... they're tight and full of energy with a long list of great tunes for a band with only two CDs! Awesome! (Remember that you can click on any picture to make it BIGGER!)

Da Flood almost repeateth
Remember the flood from last year? I've written about it before. Well, it almost happened again Tuesday night. Kingston got 60 mm of rain and my sump pumps were being overwhelmed by the 20 gallons a minute that was pouring out of my footing drain into my sump-pit! Jeez! The entire matter was exacerbated by the fact that, unbeknownst to me, my cat had pushed into the sump pit a small piece of scrap ABS pipe that clogged the empeller of my largest submersible pump! So the thing was probably working at about 25%. Jeeez! So Erin and I had to go out and buy two additional pumps just to keep up with the deluge! Holy smokes! There were 5 pumps in my pit and I had to manually operate them all night. I went to bed at 5:11am! SUCKS!

St.Jean comes to Kingston
I just spent a couple of fun days interacting with my colleagues and friends in St.Jean. Sunday night dinner at Kelsey's, Monday during the day workshop at the Base, Monday night Indian food at Darbar. Now I'm sooooooooooooooooo tired I could sleep for a day. Well, I guess that's what Tuesday's were made for (*grin*)
Fronts vs. St. Mike's!
The good guys prevail on Friday night with 41 - 24 shots and a final score of 3-1. The funniest part was the musical seats that Michelle and I played during the game. In the second period we got ourselves right behind the glass at the Frontenacs bench! Awesome! Best $11 seat in the house (*grin*) If only Michelle would stop breaking the wooden seats at the aerna though... it's so embarassing (*LOL*)

Erin's in Toronto for 2.5 days for a conference. Hmm... what kind of trouble should I get into while she's away? Any suggestions?

Friday night was fun and a half!
So...Erin, Michelle and I went out to the Sports for a Fat City Burger. We saw good old Barb there! She's a hoot! The Fat City was dreamy! Every once in awhile it feels so good to eat a hamburger that has a pork-chop on it!!!! (*hahaha*) The two pints of beer were great too. Michelle was graciously driving so I wasn't hesitating to partake in the festivities. On our way over to the Toucan afterwards we got a call from Jen. It turns out Joanne and her were in a car accident leaving Napanee to go to Toronto. Luckily no one was hurt but the snowy road conditions really made driving dicey. Needless to say they aborted their trip to Toronto and Jen said she’d try to get out to the Toucan later that night. So we landed at the Toucan and joined the Friday night crew over some beers. Jen showed up and Erin ordered some nachos… we weren’t hungry but they were so yummy! Michelle called it a night shortly after 9pm and the place was starting to thin out a bit. We struck up a conversation with two friendly guys at the table beside us. It turns out one of them was from K-town and the other was from Calgary. They were very friendly and they proceeded to buy multiple rounds of shooters for the lot of us including Dan the bartender!!! Polar Bears or something. Boy they were yummy-licious! We then walked up to the Grizzly Grill to play some pool... and have more drinks!!! A good time was had by all! It was such a “good time” for me that I had lay low the next day to recover from my handover… I think I had 12 drinks that night! UGH! HAHAHA!

Derailed!
Special thanks to Joanne for the passes to Derailed. This newly released movie with Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen was awesome. Both Erin and I were really surprised at how good movie it was. I give it a strong B+! However, if you go take a peek at its entry on Yahoo Movies you'll see that the movie is getting considerably crappier reviews. I wonder why? Has anyone else seen it? What did you think and how would you rate it?
